What is fashion and textiles?
The fashion industry is focuses on the style of the garment and makes sure that every season has their own unique look. The shape and colour of the garment are also other factors that they concentrate on.
The textile industry is very similar to the fashion industry but within the textiles industry the fabric and the decoration on the fabrics are and the technique which they are made in are really important. 



What is haute couture?

Haute couture is type of high end fashion that targets wealthy audience. This type of fashion is really detailed, exaggerated, and was first introduced in Paris. 



What is draping and tailoring?
Draping is a technique used to make a garments and is done before you sew a garment because it gives you the image of the garment after its sewn. This technique also makes it easy to add palettes or any other 3D decoration.
Tailoring is a technique which is used to make garments. It has a few steps for the final outcome i.e. pattern cutting and sewing.


What is commercial?
This is type of design within fashion that produces clothes for local high street shops e.g. Primark, H&M etc. These types of designs are very simple and are made from cheap materials so they can be sold at a reasonable price.    
 
What is interior design?
This design is commonly used on furniture and everything that’s within your house. To become an interior designer you will need skills that include being imaginative, creative and artistic.  


What is costume design?
Costume design are garments that are used on television and film production. Those garments are very detailed, exaggerated and are really expensive.
